Terms of Use
Last updated: October 21, 2026
1. These terms
SkiSavvy (skisavvy.com) is run by the company that operates it ("we", "us"; see "Contact" at the end). By using SkiSavvy you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.
2. What SkiSavvy is
SkiSavvy is a free information service: weather forecasts, snow reports, lift and run status, opening dates, webcam pictures, avalanche danger summaries, trail maps, daily briefings and gear suggestions, gathered from resorts, forecasters, public data and our own calculations. We may change, suspend or stop any part of it at any time. We don't promise it will always be available or free of errors.
3. Conditions, forecasts and safety information
Everything on SkiSavvy about weather, snow, lifts, runs, opening dates, avalanche danger and mountain conditions is provided on a best-effort basis, for general information only. We don't claim it is accurate, complete or current. Forecasts are predictions and are often wrong. Resort and forecaster feeds can be late, incomplete or down; our readers can misread them; conditions change by the hour. The daily briefing is written by artificial intelligence from this data and can misstate it. Opening dates are shown as announced and change; dates marked "Rumored" or "Estimated" are not confirmed by the resort.
Don't rely on SkiSavvy for any decision about safety. Before you go, check the resort's own site and the official avalanche forecast. On the mountain, follow signs, closures, ski patrol and your own judgement. Where SkiSavvy and an official source differ, the official source is right. SkiSavvy is not an avalanche forecast, a weather warning service, or a substitute for training, local knowledge or a guide.
4. Mountain sports are at your own risk
Skiing, snowboarding, ski touring and other mountain sports carry risks of serious injury and death, including from avalanches, weather, terrain, equipment and collisions. You take those risks yourself. You are responsible for your own decisions: where and when to go, what terrain to enter, and when to turn back. Nothing on SkiSavvy is an invitation to enter closed, uncontrolled or backcountry terrain.
5. Gear and clothing suggestions
"Your day" and similar suggestions about what to wear and which equipment suits the conditions are general guidance, partly written by artificial intelligence, and can be wrong or unsuitable for you. You decide what to wear and ride, and you bear the consequences. Have bindings and equipment set up by a qualified technician. We don't sell equipment, and we aren't responsible for purchases, discomfort, injury or illness that follow from what you choose.
6. We are independent
Unless a page says otherwise, SkiSavvy is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by any resort, resort operator, forecaster or pass programme, including Ikon Pass and Epic Pass. Resort names, logos and marks belong to their owners and appear only to identify the resort. A listing says nothing about what a resort thinks of us, or we of it.
7. Webcams and other people's content
Webcam pictures, clips and reels on SkiSavvy come from cameras that resorts and their camera hosts publish for the public. The pictures belong to their owners. We show them to tell skiers what conditions look like right now on that hill and to send them to the resort: every camera is credited and linked to its source, we don't remove watermarks, and we don't sell the pictures. We believe that is a fair and reasonable use of a picture the resort already shows the public. Where copyright law allows informational uses like this (fair dealing in Canada, fair use in the United States), we rely on it, and we claim nothing more. If an owner would rather their camera weren't here, we take it down.
Takedown. If you own a camera, picture, logo or other content shown on SkiSavvy and want it removed, changed or credited differently, email [email protected] with the page link, what the content is, who you are and your connection to it, and how to reach you. We act within five business days and tell you what we did. Notices in the form described by the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3)) are welcome at the same address and are handled the same way.
Links and data from other sites (resorts, forecasters, avalanche centres, map and weather services) belong to them. We don't control them and aren't responsible for them; their own terms apply.
8. Our content and trademarks
Our own text, design, code, briefings, data compilations, and the clips and reels we render belong to us. SkiSavvy and the SkiSavvy logo are our trademarks. You may use the site for personal, non-commercial purposes and share links to its pages and clips. You may not otherwise copy, republish, sell or build on our content or data without our written permission.
Some data on SkiSavvy comes under open licences and keeps its credits: map data © OpenStreetMap contributors (ODbL) through OpenSkiMap; terrain © Mapterhorn; weather data from Open-Meteo (CC BY 4.0) and Meteoblue; and public data from Environment and Climate Change Canada, NOAA, NRCS, Météo-France, avalanche centres, and provincial and state agencies, each credited where it appears.
9. Acceptable use
Don't: scrape, crawl, harvest or copy the site or its data by automated means, other than search and assistant crawlers as our robots.txt allows; get around the human check, rate limits or other protections; overload or disrupt the site; frame it; use it to build a competing conditions service; or use it for anything unlawful. We may block anyone who does.
10. No warranty
SkiSavvy is provided "as is" and "as available", with no warranties or conditions of any kind, express or implied, including as to accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, reliability or availability, as far as the law allows.
11. Our liability
SkiSavvy is free. As far as the law allows: (a) we are not liable to you for any loss, injury or damage arising from the site or from relying on anything on it, including wasted travel, tickets, accommodation, lost time or lost data, however caused; and (b) where liability can't be excluded, our total liability for all claims together is limited to CAD 100.
These limits don't apply to death or personal injury caused by our negligence, to fraud, to intentional or grossly negligent conduct on our part, or to any other liability the law doesn't let us exclude or limit. If you are a consumer, nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under the consumer law of the place where you live, including in Quebec under the Consumer Protection Act and the Civil Code, and in the European Union and the United Kingdom under your statutory consumer rights.
12. Your responsibility to us
If you break these terms and someone brings a claim against us because of it, you will cover our resulting losses and reasonable legal costs, as far as the law allows. This doesn't apply where consumer law forbids it.
13. Law and courts
These terms are governed by the laws of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Disputes go to the courts of Alberta, except that if you are a consumer and the law where you live gives you the right to bring or defend a claim at home, you keep that right.
14. Changes
We may change these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version; using SkiSavvy after a change means you accept it. If part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still applies.
